Spenser. South. No Hawk. He's trying to figure out who is shooting a horse, and has one 'perfect' family member and many 'imperfect' ones. Hmmmmm, I wonder who the bad guy (girl) is. A gunfight at midnight, and a rescue of the cultified sisters wraps this up.
Lisa Says: I didn't like this one much. The Spenser-Police back and forth was OK, but I missed the Hawk balance. What's up with that whole side story in the middle? It's sort of like a short story filled out to make the required length. Gays thrown in to show PC, and the by now completely annoying continual reference to not-living-together-is-perfect-for-us. What an unsatisfying ending too!
