Rainbow Origami Window Mobile

Origami window mobiles bring beauty to any room. They can hang in a window to catch the light. They can hang against a wall to bring color and delight to the room.

By far the most popular style of origami window mobile I offer is the rainbow mobile. Rainbows seem to touch the hearts of people all around the globe!

Interestingly, a real life rainbow is a smooth gradient of all colors. It is white light being broken apart into all of its components. That means there are not necessarily "seven set colors" that are represented. All shades of all colors are represented in the real life rainbow. Therefore different people see different main colors in a rainbow's display.

Some people want their rainbow to be created with the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, and purple. Some prefer pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Some go for the ROYGBIV acronym, choosing red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Different cultures associate different specific colors with the rainbow.

Whatever the preference of the specific hues, the origami mobile ends up being a gorgeous rainbow of colors.

People around the world enjoy rainbows for a variety of reasons. The rainbow is a sign of beauty and strength in a just about every culture.

Dorothy sang about "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as a place of contentment. I love the version sung by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo`ole's. It touches my soul. Then there's Kermit the Frog singing about the Rainbow Connection, for lovers, and dreamers, and me. Another song that can reach me.

In the Bible, the rainbow is a sign of the covenant between God and humans. Hindus feel the rainbow is associated with their gods. Buddhists praise a "rainbow body" as being the ultimate state in meditation, when all colors come to a merged state within you and create a white light.

The colors of the rainbow also correspond with the colors of the chakras. There are seven chakras, or energy centers, in the human body. The root chakra, at the base of your spine, is red. Next comes the sacral chakra, orange. The solar plexus chakra is yellow. The heart chakra is green. The throat chakra is blue. The brow chakra is deep blue. Finally, the crown chakra on the top is often violet or white.

Several Native American tribes believe in the legend of the "Warriors of the Rainbow" who help to save our lands from total environmental destruction.

Rainbows come in a variety of styles. Some of my customers are looking for a gentle, soothing rainbow - a peaceful, serene addition to a room. Others are looking for far more bold colors, a mobile to catch the eye and inspire creativity.
