Origami Emperor and Empress
In Japan, every girl grew up with a set of dolls, called Hina Dolls. These were elegant dolls that she could play with on a special day - Girl's Day. This fell on March 3rd every year and was a fun occasion full of sweets, tea, friends, and of course the dolls. The two most important dolls in her doll set were the Emperor and Empress.

When those girls grew into adulthood, the emperor and empress would represent their own marriage. Often they would pass their dolls down to their daughters, letting the tradition build with each generation.

If you have girls in your life, why not give them a pair of hina dolls of their very own? If you are engaged or getting married, hina dolls are the perfect way to celebrate your love for your partner, and to share that love with your wedding guests.
