Pollution and Acne
When you think of pollution, you tend to think of giant black smokestacks belching out giant clouds of black smoke. However, in our modern world, pollution comes in many forms. Try buying an air filter for your bedroom sometime, and run it for a few weeks. Take a look at the filter, and see all of the garbage it's pulled out of your air.All sorts of things get into our air - car exhaust, pesticides from gardens and lawns, pollutants from numerous other activities. They float around in the air, and eventually settle on your skin. Your skin does its job and keeps those pollutants out of your body. However, they can gum up your pores and block the oil from coming out - causing acne.
You could of course opt to move somewhere with less pollution. This would be a fantasic move for your health in MANY ways! It's incredible how many aging problems are really due to environmental pollution and your body's reaction to it. However, you might be stuck in your current polluted world for a while. While you map out your escape route, give these solutions a try.
Air Filter
As mentioned before, air filters really do work quite well. You don't need one for every room! Even just getting one for your bedroom - where you probably are 8-9 hours a day - can make a huge difference. Just make sure NOT to get an ionized one. Ionized air isn't great for you. Either get one that doesn't use ions at all, or get one that processes the ionized air.
Watch Pollution Reports
Many weather channels, as well as the internet, now provide daily reports on air pollution. If you see it's a really nasty day out, try to stay indoors. Save your body from the harm as much as possible.
