Quebec Ice Hotel Photos and Notes
The Ice Hotel
I took a TON of photos at the ice hotel because Jenn's batteries were dead in her camera, so I have organized them by the room they were in rather than try to show sequentially how we took the photos :)
This first collection of photos is of the ice hotel surrounding area. When we arrived, we got our tickets (which connected to our jackets like ski lift tickets) immediately. Ours were blue for "overnight guests". We then walked around the entire hotel so that we could see it all before it got dark, just in case it was overcast tomorrow. We got here about 4:30 and had about an hour to do this. We arranged to have our "orientation" meeting at 6pm.
The last 'tour' was at 4pm, so things were quiet here now. We walked all over the hotel with only a few other guests about.
The area that you get your tickets and sign in is a real, heated building up the hill from this ice hotel area. Here is where you do that check-in. They have bathrooms, showers, lockers for your luggage, etc. here.

Here's a photo from the heated reception building, looking down at the ice hotel complex.

From the parking lot, a view of the outer wall from the parking lot, with the chapel peeking out on the left side.

Here we're getting closer, looking at the one guarded entrance.

OK, we're in!! Here is the chapel on the left, and the reception hall on the right. The rest of the 'complex' stretches out to the right from here.

Another image of the chapel and main hall.

Here are the main doors to the chapel.

Here's the only wildlife we really saw here, a big black bird :) There were lots of big black birds on this trip!

Another image of the chapel -

And finally, one last photo. This was on the very far end of one hallway, a bit of snow graffitti!! Jenn loved this little alien :)

OK time to start exploring the rooms. First, the chapel!
