Quebec Ice Hotel Photos and Notes
The Ice Hotel Chapel

The chapel was simply *gorgeous* and had soft music playing in it. The stained glass "windows" were thinly carved ice that the sun shone through, it was simply lovely. You felt like you wanted to just sit there for hours. I'll note that it wasn't really "cold" in here - no more than if you were at a ski slope. There was no wind, because of the walls, and the sun was shining. If anything, there were a few drips coming from some spots :)

The pews were all covered with pelts so you could sit without being cold.

The altar area at the end had four massive pillars made from formed blocks of ice. They were bending a bit!

The walls were all carved.

This one was at night - they had flaming torches at all the entrances, it looked quite lovely.

There was an exit at the back of the chapel that led to a small courtyard, then you took a right to go into the big 'reception hall'.
