Book Marketing for Authors
Easy Inexpensive and Effective Ways to Publicize your Book

You’ve invested your heart and soul in your book. Gotten the phrasing just right. Worked through the layout and cover design. And now you have a shiny new book available for people to buy.
That’s the end, right?
Actually, that’s just the beginning! Because now you want to actually SELL the book. And in our modern world books rarely sell themselves, because there are millions of other books out there also vying for the readers’ attention.
Whatever type of book you write, whether it’s a Viking Vampire Time-Travel Mystery or a How-to on training goldfish to play soccer, you’ll need to connect with your target audience. And that’s where marketing and promotion come in.
In an ideal world, marketing is a win-win. You as the author find new fans. Your fans discover an author who writes exactly the type of content they want to read. Everybody is quite happy.
The trick is to do this in a way that is free or inexpensive, so the costs don’t overwhelm your budget. Over time as you earn more money from sales you can increase your marketing budget, which leads to even more sales, and the process snowballs.
Let’s get started!
Note that this book only briefly touches on social networking. I have a series of eight books which go step by step through the ideal use of social networking when marketing a book.
