Flashing Firefly Mat
Our cat loves pouncing on things. She adores toys that flash or move. This Flashing Firefly Mat seemed exactly what she'd enjoy. It has moving lights and could let her entertain herself.
Unfortunately, she just couldn't get the unit to activate. She showed some interest in the flashing lights, but her weight wasn't enough to set it off. She's about eight pounds. I imagine if you had a twenty pound cat who loved to launch in the air and land on the exact right spot, it would work. But for our cat, it didn't.
Even if I sat there and repeatedly turned it on for her, she just wasn't that interested. She'd much rather play with laser pointers and other things.
We tried giving this to another family with cats and they had similar results. The cats weren't that interested to begin with, and even if they were, they couldn't get the toy to "play".
Seems like they need to redesign this to work better with its target audience.
