East West Restaurant - Pride of America

Our choice for restaurant on Thursday night was the East-West main restaurant. This area actually has four restaurants within it - the Teppanyaki room, the sushi bar area, the back hot pot area and then the main restaurant. The main restaurant area has Chinese, Japanese and Thai items on the menu. We brought our Conundrum to drink with this.

They began with Japanese pea pods (don't eat the outside) which were quite tasty.

For my appetizer I had beef and chicken satay. Usually an appetizer of this is six pieces - I get this quite a lot at various restaurants. This one only gave you one beef and one chicken :).

For soup, I had miso while Bob had wonton. They serve the wonton with a large bowl and a single wonton in it. It might have been better to have a smaller bowl, or the same large bowl with more wontons in it :) My miso soup was quite nice; I'd already had it twice before in the Teppanyaki and Sushi areas.

Right when the soup came, so did our main dishes. That seemed pretty silly especially since my soup was too hot to drink as it was, so we asked them to please bring the main meal when we were done with our soup. So they did wait - and now the food was all cold :) Well, my steamed rice in a sealed bowl was still warm, and my ginger beef was OK but Bob's fried rice and food was very cold. So they said they'd make up some fresh food - but the food they brought after a while was lukewarm. Ah well, he ate it.

We sent some origami over to the sushi chef, including a mini flower on a toothpick. He liked them a lot :) The waitresses all liked their origami flowers and butterflies. I still was feeling less than energetic so we decided Bob should try to play golf tomorrow; he went off for a while to get that set up with the golf people.

Then we headed up to the cadillac, got some brownies for dessert and brought them back to the room to get some port.
