Quebec Ice Hotel Photos and Notes
The Main Bar

Once we had a quick drink at the Absolut bar, we went back to the main building for our 30 minute seminar. The guy there talked about how we should make sure we were thoroughly dry before going to bed, because dampness made one uncomfortable. The sleeping bags were excellent and had an inner liner. Wool, not cotton clothing should be worn for dryness reasons. The clothes of the day should definitely NOT be worn for dryness reasons. We were to wear a hat, and to keep the sleeping bag liner over us if we needed it for extra warmth. The main reception area would be staffed and have a fire going 24 hours a day, in case we got nervous and wanted to come on up. We should only keep our necessary toiletries with us, and put the rest of our luggage into the storage lockers in the heated main room.

That was easy! Now we had until 8:30 before we had our dinner reservations, and it was only 6:30. We got our PSPs and headed over to the main bar area!

The entry had a cool crystal ball of ice.

This was the only room with a fireplace in it - a metal chimney went up through the ice roof.

Lots of nooks, just like at the Absolut bar! Jenn and I grabbed one for our PSP playing.

Jenn got a hot cocoa in one of those cups with the rim on the bottom. It began eating a hole through our ice table!

The bar area itself was pretty cool! They held our glasses for us any time we left the hotel area (for dinner etc) so that we could reuse them later.

Bailey's on Ice!

As the night wore on, the room had more and more people in it, with a variety of dance music.

There were a variety of cool sculptures around in this room.

OK finally it was time for dinner, we walked up the hill maybe 1/2 mile to go up to the main heated hotel / restaurant.
