Outside Locations for Doing Yoga
My ideal place to do yoga is the back porch. In the warmer months I have a plethora of plants and herbs around me. I often run my hands through my rosemary plant before I begin my session, to release the delightful fragrance. The hummingbird feeders hang right in front of me, bringing a delightful swarm of color in the late summer. There are buzzing bees, fluttering butterflies, orange day-lilies, and much more. This is of course a location affected by nature. In the winter it's too cold to be on the back porch, so my available months are usually late April through November. Even in those months it can be too cold, too hot, too rainy, too windy, and so on. I therefore treasure each day that I can be outside.
Here are some photos of my outdoor porch yoga location from April 24, 2009.

These are from the next day, with my kitty Hamlet joining me.

On April 27th I did evening yoga with candles. It was delightful!

Here's April 29th with my laptop. Usually I don't use a DVD, I simply do my own routine. Here I was testing a DVD out for my site.

I often have to time my outside yoga based on the weather of the day. In full summer I go in the morning or evening. In mosquito months I try to avoid dusk. In cooler weather I go exactly for midday when it's the warmest. So here I have to match my cycle up with what nature is providing to me.
