Autumn Haiku
Tender sleepy thoughtstrickle through her dreaming mind
sighs, softly smiling
Gentle happiness
fills her, a gentle aura
with a glowing warmth
Pale, fragile blossoms cling resolutely to branch, wind gusts them away.
October 1993
Goldenrod in clumps -
a veritable meadow
in abandoned lot.
October 1996
Gently rumbling seats
bobble me into a sleep
barely realized.
Someone's backyard swing
slowly creaking in the wind
waiting for a child.
