Melon Salad with Honey Orange Dressing

Cucumbers in Ginger Sauce

Honey Wine (Tej)
Melon Salad
Melon balls
1/4 c orange juice
1/8 c honey
grated lemon & lime peel
Steak with Bourbon-Plum Sauce
2 steaks
1/2 c bourbon
2 large plums
1 c beef broth
1 t butter or margarine
Soak plums in bourbon over night. Cook steak on high heat in butter or margarine a few minutes on each side. Remove steak. Add plums & bourbon to skillet. Add broth. Simmer for 3 min, pour sauce over steaks.
Cucumbers & Ginger Sauce
Slice cucumbers. Serve with:
Ginger Sauce
1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c diced onion
1/4 c rice wine vinegar
1/8 t ginger
Red Raita
1 c plain yogurt
1/4 c sliced strawberries
1 handful white sugar
1/4 c raspberries
seeds of 1 pomegranate
1/8 c slivered almonds
Mix, spoon into bowls. You can decorate the top of each with additional fruits & almonds. (This is almost better than ice cream!)
Honey Wine (Tej)
This light, delicious drink is an Ethiopian tradition.
1 bottle white wine (fruity, not dry)
1/2 wine bottle water
8 T honey
Dash Rosewater (optional)
Mix and chill. Serve very cold.
