Fuji Restaurant
Marlboro MA
If you're trying to get to Fuji, the first thing to note is that it is on EAST Main Street, not JUST on "Main Street" in Marlboro. This means if you're coming from the highway that you have to go past the shopping mall and down by the Wildwood steak house to find it.
They have table cooking, a bar area and nicely enclosed booths. This should mean that whatever your dining style, they have an area suited for you. We went with the quiet booth. The decor is light wood with light walls.
The lunch menu is VERY brief - just a few items shown with photos. You have to sort of make guesses at the sushi oferings. We went with the usual standard type of items - yellowtail, tuna, salmon, spicy tuna rolls, caterpillar rolls, that sort of thing. The presentation was nice on them, and the cuts were good. Service was relatively prompt and friendly.
There was pretty much nobody there while we were there, so it was quiet. It does make you wonder if they'll survive - we've seen a number of Japanese restaurants fail due to lack of business. Maybe with their right-on-a-main-strip location they will draw in more people as time goes on.
Certainly a nice enough place to give a try to, and very convenient if you're in the Marlboro area!
