Origami Treasure Chest Book Review
Origami Treasure Chest is a bright, kid-friendly origami book with 16 animal shapes, plus some insects, flowers and boxes. It was put together by Keiji Kitamura.
Many of the shapes here are traditional, but the way in which the book lays everything out is great. They show the actual colored piece of paper step by step through the folding process. Since the paper has different colors on front and back, it's clear to see where the folds are happening. Little words help fill in where a fold is still unclear.
In addition, there are large photos of several versions of the finished animal or shape, often in a variety of colors and poses. There are examples where the figures are used as mobiles, as greeting cards, and in other situations. You really feel inspired after going through this book!
I only found one or two spots where the folds were unclear, but a bit of simple experimentation got through those areas.
Well recommended as a good basic book full of interesting and useful shapes!
