Strawberry Moon - Neptune's Car
Strawberry Moon, released in 2010, is the first CD from Neptune's Car, made up of folk duo Holly Hanson and Steve Hayes. The music reminds me of Fleetwood Mac, the Indigo Girls, and Lady Antebellum. Holly's voice is gorgeous, and I adore the harmonies with Steve. The acoustic guitarwork is lovely.
The song lyrics tell stories, and really bring you "into the scene" - from South Bend Indiana, to the Finger Lakes in New York, to a lighthouse on a rocky shore. Each song paints a different environment, one you can relate to and feel come to life around you.
If I had to choose favorites, my two favorite songs are the title track, Strawberry Moon, and When the Moon Shines on the Chrome. I simply adore the harmonies on the latter.
