Anon CD Compilation

Anon is a fascinating pair of CDs. They are enclosed in a cardboard fold-out container which also contains a set of square CD-sized art cards. Each card features a custom artwork on the front and a description of that artist and the matching song on the back. I included two samples of the art card below.

The idea for Anon was an AIDS support album. 50% of all proceeds went to support AIDS causes. Based in Boston, the set seems to be primarily made up of small local bands. As such, there is a wild mix of music tastes on here. Lisa Germano is gently drifty. Sirensong is etheral. Cake Like is more rowdy. Curious Ritual is droney. The Curtain Society is soft and flowing, almost U2 / Rush like. So certainly there might be some songs on here that go "against your grain" - and on the other hand there can be a wealth of new music you discover here that is exactly what you enjoy.

The cards are excellent. There is one per song and the wealth of styles is impressive. Again like the music there are some I adore immensely and others I'm just not connecting with. That's fine. That's why the world has such lovely diversity. You can even use the cards as inspirations for writing, poetry, or life.
