What is a HTML Compressor?
Just what is a HTML compressor, and why would you want to use one?
A HTML compressor works pretty much the way it sounds - it strips out all of the meaningless spaces and hard returns in your HTML. Those spaces and hard returns are ignored when the page is drawn, but the fact that they have to download to your userīs browser means that your page loads more slowly than it needs to.
If instead you compress your HTML before saving it to your website, your page can draw the exact same display, but can display much more quickly. This is good for you, because it means youīre not burning as much bandwidth from your site. Most websites are metered by bandwidth, and you want to minimize it as much as possible. Itīs also good for your visitor, because your visitor loads the page more quickly. If a page loads slowly, your visitor is likely to give up and go somewhere else. So you always want your pages to load as quickly as possible.
