Citizen Wine Bar Restaurant Review
Don't let the name fool you. The Citizen Wine Bar isn't just about wine. They have a full selection of appetizers, salads, and main dishes, as well as great cheese platters and desserts. And, yes, they have an awesome wine list.I went there in May 2013 with a friend of mine who was initially just interested in dessert. However, once we got there, she had a salad, which she enjoyed, and I had the tuna appetizer, which was delicious. We had the three-glass red wine sampler, which had good offerings on it.
Then, on to dessert. She had the cheesecake, while I had the full sampler plate with port. I adored the truffles. The white mousse was nice, and the fudge was creamy. I ended up taking half of it home to my boyfriend, and he loved his portion.
There is a main bar area plus a few tables. The tables typically have half with wood chairs and half with padded benches with lovely pillows. The atmosphere is comfortable. The wait staff was great - attentive, happy to offer suggestions, advice, and further details.
The only challenge here is parking - it's right downtown. I was fortunate to be there on a quiet day, and parked right out front. But I could see this being harder on a busy night.
Recommended - I'd go back again.
