A great deal is made about the Elliot family home, how it is the best home in the area, that a mere admiral really should not be stepping foot in it.
The 2008 Masterpiece Theater version had a high end mansion, but it was a modern feeling mansion, fresh and clean.
Anne's room is nice enough, but low key and quiet.
In the 1995 version it's a classic English mansion.
In the 1971 version it is a veritable castle with gigantic fireplaces, heavy furniture and ornate decorations. It really gives the sense of "very high end, old nobility".
