Spirited Away - The Parents
The animation in Spirited Away appealed to many. Here is an image of the lead character's parents from the movie. They have found an untended restaurant and decided to eat up all the food there, while their daughter protested that this was a bad idea. They were very pig-like in their eating frenzy and sure enough, they soon turn into large, chubby pigs.
This is much like Pinocchio, where the characters turn into donkeys (jackasses) for their rude behavior. It's a very visual representation of the idea that your behavior defines how others perceive you. It of course is also a convenient plot device - the girl definitely can't turn to them for help now!
