FLCL - Furi Kuri
FLCL, or Furi Kuri, is an insane blend of parodies, comedy, and other very targetted jokes that might go right over your head. But when you get it, you might collapse in laughter.
Created by Studio Gainax, this first came out in 2000 and has picked up a good sized audience in the past few years. It's about a 12 year old boy, Naota, who lives in a city called Mabase. A 19 year old girl, Haruko, runs into him and then becomes a part of his life. The two of them together fight off robots and other dangers as the storyline progresses.
Part of the great appeal of the series is the fantastic rock music that blasts through the story, by the band The Pillows.
