G-Force - Keyop - Jinpei - Peewee
In Gatchaman and Battle of the Planets, Keyop was the youngest member. He was known as Jinpei in the Japanese version, and Peewee in the G-Force version.
What they did to Jinpei in the US version is almost as troubling as what they did to Princess. In the original Japanese, Jinpei considered himself the younger brother of Princess and Mark. He is very bright and insightful, speaking very clearly. He at one point calls himself "The great "Jinpei the Swallow," 18th generation Iga Ninja" in Episode 1.
In the US version, they claim he is "a created being, cloned from a single cell" which makes him a robot that can only speak in clicks and whirrs. I'm sorry, but ALL PEOPLE are formed from a single cell, that's how reproduction works. It doesn't make us into robots! So he's a clone, a twin human is a clone too! And in that same Iga Ninja speech, the US version instead has him saying: "chirp chirp chirp itsy bitsy whirrr whirrr teeny weeny".
Yet another example. In Episode 1, the group is facing an overwhelming enemy. The enemy asks who they are. In the Japanese version, Keyop forms the top of their Ninja Tower and bravely states their name.
In the US version he just goes "Chirp! Whirr! Chirp! Bug Off!"
