 | Final Fantasy - The movie was disappointing to some fans who were expecting a movie version of the video game. While it was a completely unrelated plot, it still was a fun movie to watch. |
The graphics in this movie are just amazing. The way fabrics move, flame and mist swirl, and especially the human bodies are incredibly detailed.
The characters are not one-dimensional, nor are they perfect. They have a history and real relationships with each other. You can relate to them and why they do what they do. There isn't a mad enemy whose sole purpose is to destroy all life.
The plot is fun, although admittedly it has a few holes. It might not have the ending that most US audiences would hope for, but maybe that's a good thing.
Some violence, although the monsters are 'ghosts' so it's mostly ghosts dispersing, or the ghosts touching humans which sucks out their soul (as a 'ghost'). It has great themes to discuss together after the movie is done.
