Final Fantasy Unlimited Episode 15 - Jane
All the travelers are aboard Jane, the submarine, along with the main members (and many crewmen) of the Comodeen. Knave, the leader, talks about their resolve to fight the Earl for so many years. The kids ask Cid about the submarine and he goes crazy explaining it. Jane can do a great many things, or at least Cid makes it sound like that. He could just be bragging. He mentions that he can pilot it by himself, which makes Ai ask what the other five Comodeen members in the bridge area are doing. It turns out they're the radar guys, a task they take to with much zeal and dramatic posing.
Then there's a big montage of the kids goofing around on the ship, poking at sea life and bugging the Comodeen members, who are all training for combat. Crux swims by as the crew is distracted. Scene cut to Lord Pist, who is preparing the devious Ocean Puzzle. Kaze is off in some desert, remembering that same scene with the girl again.
The kids are both bored on the ship, and Ai begins to question whether they're any closer to find their parents. Fungo says he has a bad feeling about something, and Cid said Fungo has a "highly developed sixth sense". Cid asks what kind of feeling it is, and after a dramatic pause, Fungo admits he doesn't know.
Pist activates the Ocean Puzzle, trapping the submarine in one of 125 watery cubes, which form a larger cube. The submarine attempts to escape, but is sucked in. A sea creature attacks the submarine, and the crew uses a "Blow Cannon" to attack the creature. It is destroyed, and Earl Tyrant complains. Pist says that this is only the first part of the Ocean Puzzle. The submarine crew spots Kaze falling through the sea, and Cid uses Jane's "crab hands" to grab him and pull him inside. He's not breathing, so Ai tells Lisa to give Kaze CPR. Lisa balks, so Knave gives it a shot. Luckily for him, Kaze awakes before their lips meet.
Pist appears as a hologram before the crew, welcoming them to the Ocean Puzzle. He explains said puzzle; they're in the middle of the 125 cubes. Each time they clear a part, the puzzle moves to the above-right corner of the block, and each time they fail, it moves to the bottom left. If they get to the top-right, they're free; if they get to the bottom-left, they're consumed by Chaos. With that, he disappears in bright lights.
