2005 Anime Convention Calendar
2005 appears to be a banner year for anime conventions. Be sure to plan your schedule early - many of these sell out months in advance!
January
ARISIA
Located in Boston, Massachusetts, ARISIA combines a single anime room with talks, dealer rooms, an art show and other sci fi themed activities.
February
BOSKONE
Run by NESFA, the New England Science Fiction Convention, this on has an anime room along with lots of gaming, music, art and other literature. The guest this year is Orson Scott Card, a fantastic author!
April
Anime Boston
THE biggest convention on the east coast, this thing is just massive. It's sold out every year and is now at the Hynes convention center. A must-see for any anime fan!
May
Balticon
We've never been to Balticon, but they're running their 39th Maryland Regional Science Fiction Convention on May 27 - 30, 2005. They have a 24 hour a day Anime room along with another "non-anime" video room and a seperate huge short subject juried film contest on Sunday night where the audience will vote to award Best Film.
