Building an Online Scrapbook
Photos get old and dusty in cardboard boxes, rarely being seen. Bring your old photos on line and share them with your family and other researchers!
Develop a Family Website
The best way to get your photos and information on line is via your own website. You have control there about how everything looks, you can link stories to your photos, describe how people fit into your family tree, and much more.
Info on building a genealogy website
Go with an Established Site
There are sites set up explicitly to help people share photos. While they do make it easy for you to upload photos, usually they then only have limited abilities for adding captions. And usually they push their marketing efforts on you, trying to get you to buy more space or to buy products like reprints from their company. This might be an OK option if you don't have time for a website, but you're trusting your photos and information to a third party that might not be around forever.

Hook Up with a Surname Site
Most surnames have a site on line already. If you offered photos of a 'Smith' from the 1800s, they'd probably be thrilled to put it on line for you! If your 'Smiths' came from a certain town, that town genealogy site might be interested in sharing a part of its history on its website.
