Fly Like An Eagle - Steve Miller Band
Fly Like an Eagle was the album and song title from the Steve Miller Band 1976 hit. Eagles are powerful symbols for strength, freedom and independence.
"Fly like an eagle, to the sea.
Fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me."
The USPS took on "Fly Like an Eagle" as their theme song several years ago, with great success. The song is not only popular, but also promotes the qualities the postal service treasures - dependability and ability to persevere despite harsh odds.
That makes the song even more amazing as it relates to Lance Armstrong, who has now won the Tour de France 5 times in a row. Lance came back from serious cancer to win the most difficult challenge in cycling (and indeed perhaps in all of sports). That Lance can "Fly like an Eagle" is not in doubt at all!
"I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Fly through the revolution"
