Flipper - The Pelican Movie
Sure, Flipper is about a dolphin and stars Frodo himself, Elijah Wood. But for us bird lovers, Flipper has a pet pelican in most scenes!
Elijah is coming to "Coral Key" (a mythical island in the Florida Keys) to stay with his cranky uncle, Paul Hogan. Of course this is a family movie so the obnoxious teen and cranky oldster soon become friends and the world is good. But the best part is that Paul has a pet Pelican that hangs around the house!
There are all sorts of great scenes with the pelican, including one of Paul feeding him beer. Please don't try that at home! This is definitely a fun movie for any pelican-lover to watch - and if you can GET to the keys, they are chock full of interesting birds to watch.
Watch for those low air fares to Miami, and drive on down!
