Snowy Egret Photos and Information
Snowy egrets, or Egretta thula, are lovely white birds with wispy end feathers. They have long black legs and a yellow beak. They're found across the eastern and southern US.
This snowy egret was found on Key Largo, in Florida. The snowy egret was almost made extinct in the late 1800s when the feathers-on-hat craze hit its peak.
Snowy egrets lay eggs once a year, raising 3-5 young at a time. The birds eat fish, crabs, insects and even frogs.
