Personalized Pencils
I know this is a cliche item - but there's a reason for that. It really works well! Always have a batch of personalized pencils in your office, keep some in your car, bring some in your bag, carry some in your purse. Leave them behind at restaurants, in the library, at the coffee shop. Make sure they have your website URL on them!
Every year when I go to gatherings with friends, I make up pencils commemerating the trip and choose a color scheme that matches the destination. Pencils are REALLY cheap but are incredibly useful. People use them - they actually look at the letters.
I get my personalized pencils from the Oriental Trading Company - they're very prompt, they're cheap, and I've never had any problems at all! They have a TON of varieties - gold and silver, bright colors, pastel colors, you name it.
