Millet - a Parakeet Treat
You'll find millet in many pet stores. Millet is in essence seed stalks where the seeds were dried right on the stalks. In this photo, the millet spray is on the left, and regular 'parakeet seed' is on the right.
Millet is very high in fat and is a TREAT for parakeets. It should only be fed to them occasionally. Parakeets in the wild certainly did not have millet year-round!
