Hartz Bonanza Vegetable Blend
This container is $4.29 for 28.3oz, a strange combination. It says to be a vegetable blend parakeet gourmet diet, with vitamin rich vegetables and grains.Looking at the mix, I mostly find long seeds, round seeds, and that is it. There are tiny bits of green and orange in there. To call this a "vegetable blend" seems a bit deceptive. The main ingredients are white millet, oat groats, red millet, canary grass seed, wheat, soybean meal, rape seed, and then corn gluten meal which must be the vegetable :) Millet isn't exactly healthy daily fare for keets. Looking further through the ingredients I find mention of carrot and corn. I really have to say looking at the mix that I find nothing looking like corn unless the very few tiny orange bits in there are corn bits.
I've given this blend to my keets and they seem OK with it, they like the round seeds vs the long seeds, but it is good for them to have a variety. I can't imagine they get much benefit from the tiny bits of corn and carrot in here - it is far more important for you to feed your keets actual vegetables and other foods vs hoping for your seed blend to give them those benefits.
Somehow from looking at the packaging, you get the sense that you are giving your birds a high end special diet replete in vitamins. Please, still consider this blend a 'seed' mix and don't expect it to take the place of a balanced diet for your keets.
