Location - Trusting in Faith
Trusting in Faith is about a world where the threats are not from harsh weather - they are from the harshness of relationships. The women who Sarah tends to are not worried about deadly snowstorms or wild seas. They are worried about the man who is mistreating them or the dangers of childbirth. So I wanted to create an external world which was fairly neutral, so that the focus could be on these internal turmoils.
So, on the map of medieval England, I located this story in the heartland, where the temperatures were fairly moderate, where the ocean was far off, where the mountains were a distant thoughts. They were not an easy target for pirates. The troubles they faced were more of their own making.
