Location - Believing Your Eyes
Believing Your Eyes was always based in a cold, sharp, challenging environment. Lucia has been raised in those rocky cliffs and finds security in their hard walls. She sees the appeal of the warmer, gentler ways - but even so it's her home in the mountains that she wants to stay.
They do travel down to warmer climes during part of the story, but that is primarily to show that she just does not want to stay there. She wants to get home again.
