Mount Susitna - Sleeping Lady
Mount Susitna, also known as the Sleeping Lady, is a very famous mountain area near Anchorage, Alaska. You can see this feature from many spots in the city.

The legend is that long, long ago, when giants roamed the land, Susitna was about to marry her true love. He left to go on a mission and she fell asleep while waiting for his return. He died tragically, and she remains asleep.

You can see her head to the left, and her feet trailing off to the right.

In this photo, Mount Susitna is the formation on the left, and Denali (Mount McKinley) is over to the right. Susitna looks much larger! This is of course because it's also much closer :)
