Captain Cook - Cook Inlet
Anchorage Alaska has a wonderful observation point overlooking the Cook Inlet. One of the sights is Mount Susitna, which looks like a sleeping lady.
Below are two views of Mount Susitna. See the head on the left, the bump of the chest a little further to the right, and then the legs stretching out to the right.

In the photo below, you can see one of the binoculars at the landing area. Below, you can see the freight ship. Anchorage is an extremely large and active port.

This statue commemerates Captain Cook. Captain Cook was born in 1728 and served in the British navy. He is famous for many discoveries, including being the first European to Hawaii and to going around the globe. He was the first person to map the North American continent well enough to have all of its outlines added to maps, including going up to Alaska and into the Cook Inlet.

In this photo, Carolyn, BellaOnline's Beer Editor, stands besides the lovely Alaskan landscape.
