Villa Nova Italian Restaurant Anchorage Alaska

Villa Nova is an Italian Restaurant Anchorage Alaska. The chef, George, was trained at Cordon Blue in France. The skill shows in his delicious dishes.

This is an extremely family friendly restaurant, and it showed by the number of families here, some with young children. They have great, high quality food for the adults - and friendly waitstaff and a welcoming atmosphere for the younger tykes.

While other Italian restaurants might hit the note of polished brass and polished wood, Villa Nova goes for the casual decor of Chianti bottles in baskets.

The appetizers are served out plate to plate by the wait staff, and there are numerous Italian wines on the wine list. For the main dish, several of us went with the daily specials. I had the fish with a nut breading which was delicious.

For dessert we had a sampling, with a little of each of the main items. Each one was quite wonderful! It's a great way to try out all the different options, so you know what to try a full dish of during your next visit.

George himself came out to talk with us, to see how we liked his dishes. He is a quite elderly gentleman who is still sharp and spry. He was quite friendly and down to earth, and a pleasure to speak with.
