Sunday - Explore Martha's Vineyard, Fly to Nantucket
Kris and I woke up about 8am Sunday morning, showered, and headed down for breakfast. It was a gorgeous, sunny day, and the breakfast room was bright and pleasant. We got muffins, cereal boxes, OJ and english muffins and carried them out to the wide front porch where a row of rocking chairs were set up. It was amazing relaxing to sit on the porch, nibbling breakfast, and enjoying the morning. There were hardly any cars on the street, so you could sit and admire the various houses that lined the streets. Finally we got up and began to wander down the cottage streets some more. There were homes there owned by Peter Norton - owner of Norton Antivirus - and also one owned by Martin Luther King, Jr. Indeed, this area is known to be very "multi race friendly" and we saw a number of interracial couples.

As we approached the main town area we saw the big Celebrity cruise line ship that was docked off shore. Tenders were bringing in hordes of passengers, so we went quickly into town to see if we could get a tour before they all got in.

As we came in, we saw a cool Mexican restaurant with a cactus out front, complete with geckos!

It turns out that a tour bus was JUST about to leave, so we hopped on. It was an hour long tour, and we got to see Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown as well as a lot of the island's center. It was very nice with all sorts of interesting information. A number of celebrities live here - Mick Jagger, Billy Joel, Diane Sawyer, Walter Cronkite, James Taylor, Carly Simon.
When the tour was done, we hopped in a cab over to Vineyard Haven to have lunch at the classic spot - the Black Dog Tavern.
