Saturday - Ferry from New Bedford to Martha's Vineyard

Kris and I met up in New Bedford at the ferry office at around noon for the 12:30 ferry over to Martha's Vineyard. It's a great little fast ferry, and the trip went VERY smoothly. We simply waited for the ferry to show up -

Got on board and found a comfy seat -

And promptly fell asleep. The hour ride over was smooth and easy. There was a long pier at the other side to walk up, and we were on Martha's Vineyard!

The ferry docks right at Oak Bluffs by the town green. There are GORGEOUS gingerbread cottages all around this area of town. It's called the "campground". There were homes of all shapes, sizes and colors. It was a short walk down to the cottage we were staying at, called the Pequot House.

I joked to Kris that the mermaids on the sign were us two, since she is blonde and I am brunette :) Check in was super easy and soon we were in our room - very bright, clean and perfect for us!

We decided to head out to find some lunch. We passed all sorts of gorgeous cottages along the way. Here's just one of them.

Soon we hit the main street with its many shops and restuarants. After looking at a few menus in the windows, we decided on a restaurant that had both sushi and seafood. She had the seafood, and I had the sushi. It was great!
