Monday - Fly back to Martha's Vineyard, Ferry Home
Monday morning we woke up bright and early again. I realized I was missing my souvenier bag from last night, so we now had 2 bags to track down! Kris lent me her toiletries so I could at least get showered, and I did have my final set of clothes with me. After that, it was time for breakfast. We walked over to the Languedoc. It's a lovely restaurant - yellow-white cloths on the tables, straight dark wood chairs, mustard-yellow walls with white trim. There were lovely paintings and flower decor. They only had a coffee cake to eat, though, with a few grapes and strawberries. There was coffee, but no tea nor orange juice. Still, it got us started.

While on this street I got photos of the other 2 buildings here we ate at last night -
Brotherhood of Thieves -

Cioppinos -

Kris wanted to go to the Whaling Museum. I'd never been so I readily agreed. It was really cool! It was much larger than I thought, and had a huge amount of scrimshaw, whale products, and even a giant skeleton of a whale. There was a video that described how the whale got beached on the island in 1999. Here is an image of baleen - the soft filtering mouth that many whales have - plus some ambergris.

When we got out, Kris checked at Brotherhood and then Cioppino's and found my bag. Hurrah! I called Nantucket's Cape Air office and was told "go call Martha's Vineyard". After 2 tries I got through and they said they didn't have it and to talk to Nantucket. Finally I got a call back and they had tracked down my bag. They would just hold it for me at Nantucket.
It was now about lunchtime and our breakfast hadn't been large anyway. We walked over to the Jared Coffin inn and had lunch out on that patio at their restaurant, the Tap Room.

The white grill tables and white metal chairs were nice and casual, with lovely burgundy umbrellas and a flagstone floor. I had fish and chips, delving fully into carbs since we were about to do a lot of walking. It was tasty tho there were a number of bones in the fish.
It was time to head out in search of the jail!
