Wednesday - Westin Regina -
Morning at the Westin
I woke up around 8:30 today and stayed in bed until 9, as today our only task was to snorkel. But according to the MN woman last night, the waves were NASTY yesterday, blowing water straight up your nose. Today's water looked even worse, red flags everywhere. So while we didn't have to leave the hotel until 1:15pm, I figured my snorkelling plans were out.
Even so, Jenn and I put on our suits and got our snorkelling stuff out, and headed downstairs. Yup, the waters were REALLY rough. The MN woman had said the lifeguard wouldn't even let people swim by the reef in the buoyed area yesterday and today it seemed even worse. I took a lot of photos today, having not much else to do :)

Jenn and I went to scout out the last 2 remaining pools, near the 'club buildings' (i.e. the timeshares). These were cool pools, with one having a swim-up bar and the other having fountains in it. The final jacuzzi was ... you guessed it ... cold water :) Jenn didn't want to get her hair wet at this point so I snorkelled alone, enjoying the cool water.

Finally I called it quits and Jenn and I went upstairs to change. We brought all of our stuff into Mom's room, since Mom had asked for a late 1pm checkout. Checkout was normally at noon. It was only 10:30 or so, but we went down to check out so that was all set. Sure enough, as we wait in line to check out, the timeshare lady descends again!! We tell her we are CHECKING OUT and can't take her tour. She seems saddened by this. We pay 17 pesos for the phone call we'd made to Lomis Travel to find out our shuttle departure time, and don't get a receipt or anything for the stay. Hmmmmmmmmm. In any case, we head back to hang out with Mom under some shade.
