DAY 6: Saturday Oct 25th:
Cotton Sack

Here's the video:

2.2mb Video of Lynnwood and the Cotton Sack

It has Uncle Lynnwood wearing an old cloth cotton sack over his shoulder, the kind that pickers used to wear. he keeps it out in his garage. It has little plastic "dots" on the bottom of it so the fabric doesn't rip open while you drag it along the ground. Apparently it came in different sizes so kids would get little ones and adults would get big ones. Here's the transcript from the video as best as I can make it out!

Lynnwood: Put this across the shoulder like this right here. And drag that sucker behind you and be picking that cotton, and drop it in right in here.

Lisa: Excellent!

Lynnwood: Yes.

Bob: Probably didn't have any, uh, bees nests on it back then though.

Lynnwood: Had what?

Warren Lee: Dirt Doggers nests? Oh, yeah, dirt doggers.

Lynnwood: Yes.

Warren Lee: Mud doggers ... Dirt doggers ...

Becky: Wait a minute, Uncle Lynnwood! Don't let him get it off!

Bob: I can't stop him!

Becky: Uncle Lynnwood, put that ... can you put that back on a minute?

Kate: She's wanting to make your picture, poppa.

Lynnwood: Oh! With this on me? OK.

Warren Lee: I'm glad nobody asked me to have my picture made with a damn cotton sack!

Lynnwood: Son this is what elite wears.

Warren Lee: U-huh ... I remember seeing the elite with those cotton sacks!
