Nantucket Island:
Monday, July 5 1999
Monday was the day to relax. Bob stayed behind while the rest of us took the shuttle in to town to explore a bit. I wore my hat and gobbed lotion over myself, but somehow forgot the fronts of each legs. That came back to haunt me later on.
We roamed through various shops, looking at various items. Dale Sr got a yellow tang Ty fish for only $10, and we looked at candy and tourist items. Jenn and I went in hunt of a paper-making location, but couldn't find it. Soon we were back at the shuttle stop, riding the shuttle home.
We had a quick lunch, then all but Jenn and Bob headed out to the beach. I brought the big umbrella and hit underneath it.

The kids decided they wanted to stay out of the sun as well

Then they went back to play in the waves. They were HUGE. In fact, with the tide coming in, James got lifted up so he was off his feet, and the waves started going right over him. When I went out to get him, even though I was only up to my waist, the waves came over my head and tumbled me a few times.

Note that this is *Dale Sr* not too far out

Pretty impressive waves
We got back to the house and rested, and the next morning we took the first ferry back across to Hyannis. Quite a fun time out on the island!
