Smile Exercises - Pucker
When you do smile exercises, you are getting your face muscles in shape so that when you DO smile, it looks natural, healthy and full. You don't want your face to look rigid or stretched - those make your face look aged and angry. What Is a Pucker?
I looked for an image to show this and can't find one :) It means you scrunch your lips together as if you were going to suck through a straw. Your lips make sort of an "O" shape and push forward from your face. Imagine maybe that you were going to kiss someone but wanted only the tops of your lips to touch them and nothing else.
Smile Exercise 1
Pucker your lips forward, as far from your face as you can. Make it into a "super pucker". Hold this for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
Smile Exercise 2
Pucker your lips forward. Now "squeeze" the left and right side of your mouth in towards the center of the pucker. This isn't an exact science, more of a general feeling :) Hold for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
Smile Exercise 3
Pucker your lips forward. Now lift your entire pucker up towards your nose, as high as you can go. Hold this for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
Smile Exercise 4
Pucker your lips forward. Now slide your entire pucker left, as far as you can go. Hold this for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
Smile Exercise 5
Pucker your lips forward. Now slide your entire pucker right, as far as you can go. Hold this for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
Smile Exercise 6
OK this one is a little more challenging. Pucker your lips forward. Now try to slide your lips IN towards your teeth. This won't be easy, but the mere fact that you are trying will help to exercise your lip muscles. Hold this for five seconds. Relax. Do this three times.
The aim of all of this is to get your lips to stretch out, to become more plump and full. The more you get the blood flowing in your lips, the more naturally healthy they will look.
