Smiles and Aging
Your face is in essence made up of skin over muscle. Over time, people tend to stop exercising their muscles. Once the muscles get limp and weak, the skin on it sags, and the whole face droops. We see those as wrinkles and lines. This general process is also affected by sun damage, smoking damage, and poor eating habits. We used to think that metabolism "naturally" went away as people aged. We now know that older people CAN have a metabolism just like a younger person - if they continue to stay active. The same is true for many other aspects of our bodies!

With older people, it is usually the top lip that begins to look "thin", because of lack of exercise and the pull of gravity.
Yes it is true that if we don't exercise, things start to sag. We need to therefore do our best to continue to exercise, to hydrate our skin, to give it all of the nutrients it needs. Keep it out of the sun. Sun damage is one of the quickest ways to wrinkles and dead looking skin.
Exfoliate regularly and gently - a washcloth or soft toothbrush works well. Your skin naturally replenishes itself over time. The skin you see isn't "ancient" - it is less than 30 days old! Keep allergens and contaminants away. Use moisturizing lotions to keep the skin moist, and drink ample water and take your vitamins so it stays supplied from within.
Do the exercises and you might be amazed at how fresher and younger your face looks!
