Aveda Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque

This is one of the priciest masques on the market, and is typically found at spas and other upscale locations. Aveda prides itself on staying with pure plant / flower essences to bring you high quality products.

You can argue for or against going with purely natural items. Certainly there are very toxic substances in nature, and certainly scientists have perfected some chemicals for working well with human skin. I personally don't go overboard on needing everything to be Found In Nature - but I do also appreciate natural products when they suit the needs well.

This lend is primarily clay, coconut and sugar beats along with hyssop, clover and other herbs. The mask is white and creamy, with a light texture that goes on very smoothly. It's not a thick clay - but it's not watered down either. I really found the texture to be just about right. It goes on smoothly and covers your face without coating it in goo. There's a mild aroma, maybe slightly floral.

You only need to keep this mask on for 5 minutes before you wash it off. It doesn't dry into hard, crackling bits in that time, but it does make my face feel fresh and soft when I finish. The pores are definitely more clean and my face is moisturized and soft.

I don't know that I can say it's worth $19 a bottle, but it is a very nice product and might be worth a splurge for that special evening!
