Avon Anew Retroactive Repair Eye Serum

My normal introduction applies here. It's important to take care of your eyes. The skin around your eyes is delicate and thin. You easily show wrinkles and stress here if you're not careful. Since people look at your eyes when they talk to you, they notice this far more readily than they notice aging anywhere else on your body. This care is important for people of all ages, of all backgrounds.

I've tried a lot of eye care products over the years, and I am REALLY pleased with this Anew Retroactive. First, it's in a pump. If you're going to put something right near your eyeballs for multiple hours, you really want it to be clean and contaminant free. If you had one of those "stick your finger in the pot" style creams those are very easy to get dirt, dust and other stuff into. With this pump you're guaranteed that every dollop of lotion - from start to finish - is clean and fresh.

Next, the texture is GREAT! If it was a thick texture it would pull and tug at your skin as you put it on, which is not good for thin skin. Instead, this is thin and slippery. Yes, it stays in place once you put it on - but it goes on VERY smoothly. This is just about ideal for the eye area.

The only real question would be if this thinner stuff worked "just as well" as thicker stuff. I'm not sure how you could even judge that besides putting one on one eye for six months, something else on another eye for six months and then comparing the two against each other. I'm actually of the opinion that most eye lotions are "relatively similar" if you get one that goes on very easily and stays in place. The key is to keep the skin hydrated and protected. Most of the "nutrition" from the skin comes from inside, via the blood vessels. So in that sense if you eat a very good diet, take your vitamins and stay hydrated that is the best you can do in terms of skin health.

So I am really pleased with this product and highly recommend it! As a bonus, the price is quite reasonable!

Update - I've found that this product gets very "sticky" after a few hours. If you try to rub your eyes, your fingers stick against your skin rather than sliding along it. This makes me concerned about dirt and grime which also must be sticking against your skin. It also means any time you touch the skin near your eye area you are tugging at it. I think, while I still really like the way this goes on and is packaged, that I'd like something a little "creamier" if I can find one.
