Electrolysis Hair Remover Electric Current

Electrolysis is one of the only hair removal systems that is really proven to work and which can be permanent. But it's also quite expensive. In essence in electrolysis they have a thin needle with an electrical current on the end. Your hair follicle is like a tunnel down into your skin, and at the bottom of the tunnel is the hair root. The hair grows up out that tunnel and is seen on the surface. In electrolysis the needle is slid carefully down that tunnel and touches the root, zapping it. The root is killed and the hair slides out.

Usually you go into a beauty salon and a trained technicial does this for you. That's because there is as you can imagine great potential for harm here. If you don't slide that needle in carefully, it punctures the skin. If the needle gets contaminated, you come down with diseases. You have to use the right amount of electricity to kill the hair root, but not enough to hurt the skin around the hair.

There are actually home kits and yes, I bought one. This is NOT something you can do while casually watching TV or paying attention to something else. In fact it's best if one person is the victim and the other person is the technician and does the needle moving, with feedback from the victim. You have to have very good lighting and pay close attention to what you're doing. It's slightly painful, but certainly doable.

The downside of course is that it takes quite a while to get a single hair out, with all this work you're doing. And the average leg has MANY hairs. I know people who go in a quadrant at a time, getting portions of their legs worked on. After a few years, their entire legs are done and they are pretty much set for life. But that is a lot of time, energy and money invested into a problem which to be honest, are you really going to care about much when you're 50 or 60? It seems to be teenagers and 20-somethings who are obsessed with removing their hair to look like the latest MTV idol. Older women have a much more "I am the way I am, learn to accept it" attitude. Also I suppose older women are far more conscious of the great danger of skin cancer caused by beachside lounging and are more likely to be covered up than bared for all to see.

In any case, I would personally recommend doing something far more meaningful with your cash if you have enough to contemplate going for full body electrolysis. If you want to get a home kit and listen to books on tape or something while you and your partner in crime work slowly on your body, an hour a night, then by all means give it a try!
