Avon Advance Techniques Winter Restore Conditioner

Yes, this review is very similar to my review of their Winter Restore Shampoo product, since I use the two in tandem :)

Winter can be really rough on your hair. The cold air temperature means your hair can literally freeze in a layer of ice at times. The high winds and dry air can cause it to crack. I am all for having a special conditioner during this time of year to help your hair survive until the spring.

That being said, I have mixed feelings about the Avon Winter Restore option. It is thick, which is good. However, it also seems to leave my hair gummy, as if there are layers of goo on it. I suppose you could have a variety of opinions about this. If I was going to a dinner with friends, and my hair was all gooey and weighted down, I'd probably be rather disappointed. But say I was going out to the ski slopes, was going to have my hair inside a hat, and was worried about it being damaged by the cold and dry and other problems it was going to face. I'd probably *love* to know it was safely ensconced inside a gooey protective layer, keeping it safe until I could get home again.

So while the bottle says "restore", I look at this as a "protect". I would wear it at times that I was going out into rough conditions, to keep my hair safe during that time. However, I would NOT use this conditioner when I actually was thinking about how my hair felt or looked like. In those situations I would use a normal conditioner.

I also have to comment on the pop-tops they use for these containers, which I find less than great. It would be nice if they created a top that was easier to open and had a larger hole for the conditioner to come out of.

Still, useful if you use it in the manner I suggest!
